Why This Retreat Exists

We created this retreat for the dreamers — the ones who’ve always wanted to experience a safari, but didn’t know how to begin. For those who thought yoga retreats weren’t for them, or that adventures like this were out of reach.

We’re here to show that real adventure doesn’t need luxury — that meaningful travel can be accessible, grounded, and rich with intention.

We believe in the power of slowing down — of moving your body, resting your mind, and soaking in every moment. In local guides and homemade meals, in sunrise game drives and morning horseback rides among wildlife, in laughter around campfires and gazing at the stars.

We believe the wild is for all of us.
And we’d love to share it with you.

Nina — Co-Facilitator, Traveler & Founder of Rive Gauche Yoga Copenhagen

I’m Nina — a yoga teacher, animal lover and passionate traveler. Originally from Paris and shaped by a multicultural background, I feel inspired finding new ways to bring people together — through art, movement, nature and shared presence.

My path has always been rooted in humanities. I trained in ballet and modern jazz for over a decade and studied psychology. Opening my own studio and offering a new approach of yoga was a big leap. Music is at the core of my work so that following sequences leads to a special physical and sensitive experience. The  studio has become a space for people to land, to connect, and to grow. Rive Gauche gathers now a vibrant, Danish and international community.

On this retreat, I guide yoga and mindfulness sessions, expending within ourselves the emotional flow of the journey. I bring in my experience as a teacher you can rely on, but above all as a human connecting, listening, and sharing. It is urgent to get conscious of the wild side of the world, which must be absolutely protected, admired and respected. Approaching wilderness is an essential resource that makes us aware of its beauty and of life itself. I am looking forward to sharing with you the magic of this retreat.

Kasia — Co-Facilitator, Wildlife Photographer & Experience Curator

I’m Kasia — a nature-seeker, wildlife photographer, and traveler drawn to wild places and the stories they hold. Born in Poland, I’ve lived in Germany and Denmark. I’ve spent my life moving — across borders, disciplines, and ways of being. From over a decade of karate to hours in the saddle and time behind the lens, movement has always been my way of connecting.

By profession, I design digital experiences at the LEGO Group — but my favorite kind of planning happens under open skies. I built this retreat’s itinerary, blending adventure, presence, and the kind of awe that stays with you. I create travel experiences that are transformative, accessible, and rooted in real connection — and I love sharing them.

On this retreat, I take care of the details — from behind-the-scenes planning to creating the kind of atmosphere where people feel held and connected. I’m also the group’s quiet paparazzi — always nearby with a camera, capturing the moments that matter without disrupting them. Whether it’s a glance in the jeep or an unexpected burst of laughter, I’m there to make sure you feel seen — and remembered.

Our Story — How a Camera, a Coffee & a Shared Love for Movement Led to Kenya

We didn’t click right away. For a long time, we barely spoke — just crossed paths in the studio.
Nina was teaching yoga. Kasia was showing up, moving through the flows, and heading home.

Then one night, we ended up at the same dinner. We talked. And something shifted.

A few days later, we met for coffee to fix Nina’s old camera. We flipped a switch, the camera focus came back to life. It worked, just like the conversation that followed.

We started sharing stories — journeys, wild places, photography, big cats.
And underneath it all, the same dream: share our love for travel, nature and connection - witness the untamed, feel alive.

Movement was always part of us.
Ballet. Karate. Yoga.
Different paths, same drive — to connect, express, and experience the world through movement and presence.

So we went to Kenya.

And it gave us exactly what we needed — space, presence, perspective.
We came home knowing one thing for sure: this wasn’t just a trip to remember.
It was something we had to share.
